On Wednesday I tried doubles in open water for the first time. While this has been a long time coming, I have not had the gear or the technical training to go off and give it a real shot. This is my first experience.
Given there is indeed an "Everest-like" obsession surrounding diving this wreck I felt this one merited a book of its own, if for no other reason than the fascinating history surrounding the ship itself and those who have lived and died diving it.
The best part of diving at the Oregon Coast Aquarium is that I'm in close contact with marine life. As I continue to explore this underwater otherworld, I am continually struck by the personalities of the life I see, and by the sheer joy of this life being aware that I'm seeing it.
