Every now and then it’s good to step outside of the comfort zone of your own well-fitted scuba gear and don the gear your students have to use. This gives you insight into the very real problems they have to deal; problems you have have forgotten existed.
On Wednesday I tried doubles in open water for the first time. While this has been a long time coming, I have not had the gear or the technical training to go off and give it a real shot. This is my first experience.
Given there is indeed an "Everest-like" obsession surrounding diving this wreck I felt this one merited a book of its own, if for no other reason than the fascinating history surrounding the ship itself and those who have lived and died diving it.
