As a full-time dive industry writer, travel journalist, and underwater photographer, I needed a dive log that could do more than just track time, depth, and PSI. I needed something that could capture the story behind each dive—something that could help me organize my notes, reflect on my experience, and plan content at the same time.

More often than not I was writing about my trips months after I’d been on them. By that time, many of the vivid details were forgotten. I finally admitted I needed something better than a standard dive log book.

So, I designed it.

The Ultimate Dive Planner & Journal for Scuba Divers and Content Creators is a 4-in-1 dive log, planner, journal, and creative tool built specifically for people who write, photograph, film, or document their dives.

Whether you’re a dive travel blogger, social media content creator, influencer, underwater filmmaker, or someone who just wants to remember their dives in vivid detail, this planner was made for you.

Since its creation, I’ve used it in Palau, Sint Eustatius, and in Saba. In each case it’s been a lifesaver. I will admit it’s easier to use on a liveaboard as there’s usually a large (and mostly dry) table to write on, but it’s still just as easy to drop in a dry bag and take on a day dive boat.

Why It’s Better Than a Standard Dive Log

Most dive logs are limited to the basics. This one is different. For every dive, you’ll get four full pages dedicated to planning, documenting, reflecting, and creating. By the end of a trip, you won’t have the option to forget. You’ll have so much content you’ll easily be able to relive your dives (this is thanks to somewhat guided prompts).

Here’s what’s inside:

Pre-Dive Notes + Briefing Page

Plan your dive like a pro (or write down the dive guide’s plan).

  • Site name, location, and dive number (I usually write the dive number of the trip)
  • Dive type, objectives, and history
  • Marine life you hope to see / have been told is at the site
  • Sketch area for a hand-drawn site map (I copy the one on the whiteboard/poster)
  • Perfect for instructors, team briefings, or solo planning

Post-Dive Notes Page

Capture what really happened.

  • Conditions, emotions, key moments
  • Gear used, highlights, what worked and what didn’t
  • Content captured: photo, video, notes
  • Ideas sparked for future dives or stories (this is great for writers and social media influencers)

Additional Notes for Storytelling

Bring your dive to life through all five senses.

  • Prompts for light, color, sound, motion, smell, taste (this will help you recall your dives in vivid detail)
  • Observations on marine life behavior and diver interactions
  • Emotional insights and creative inspiration
  • Ideal for bloggers, writers, and anyone wanting more immersive memories

Storyboards for Videos Page

Turn your dive into a narrative.

  • Visualize reels, short films, or YouTube episodes
  • Sketch or outline your sequences and scenes
  • Notes for voiceovers, story beats, and transitions
  • Great for photographers and videographers working on social content or client projects

Who It’s For

If you’re in the dive travel industry, this is your planner. It’s already helping:

  • Underwater photographers organize and reflect on shots
  • Dive bloggers structure their site reviews and trip reports
  • Content creators brainstorm and map out posts and reels
  • Scuba instructors teach briefing techniques and site history
  • Journalers deepen their dive memories and emotional reflections
  • Travel writers capture those in-between moments and magical details

Whether you’re just starting to journal your dives or looking to upgrade from your basic logbook, this dive planner will help you make every dive more meaningful and more memorable.

Why I Made It

I created this planner after years of struggling with dive logs that didn’t support the way I work as a storyteller and content creator.

I needed something that could serve as a creative partner—not just a record keeper. This journal is the exact tool I wish I had from day one. It’s tried and tested across real-world dive assignments, and I use it for every trip I take now.

If you’ve ever surfaced from a dive with a head full of ideas—and nowhere to put them—this is your answer. Plus it’s a great place to scrawl phone numbers and email addresses for people you’ve met on your travels.
